Rock and Roll . . .

Hanksville Hazard brought down safely.  Pro-Active engineers avoided possible serious problems. Several years earlier, Big Bertha's Brother, closed SR#24for quite some time.

Well, the news reporter, Galbraith, of the Salt Lake Tribune got it pretty close, and covered the story well.  This is a technique we developed.  It is called Sequencing pneumatics and hydraulics.  The principle affecting how well it works has to do with studying and understanding the boulder well enough that you can position special 74 ton strong pneumatic bags in various places in the cracks.  Then you fill them up in the right sequence.  If it is done correctly you can control how it rolls, where it rolls, how fast it rolls, and many times, even where it lands.  In the case of Big Bertha we were right on.  HWY 24 was able to have traffic flowing in 30 to 45 minutes.

Provo Canyon boulder brought down safely.  Despite Provo Canyon's many cliff's, and near vertical slopes, it has been listed as one of the lowest rated rock fall hazards of any of the canyons on the States Rock Fall Hazard Inventory List.
